For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it lingers wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay. –Habakkuk 2:3
The above verse was God’s response to Habakkuk’s second complaint because he just asked God about why He hadn’t dealt with the Babylonian’s for their sinful nature. Often times, we complain to God about different things and when He doesn’t respond, we keep complaining, and the above verse is usually His response.
What happened to faith? What happened to trusting in God’s promise that if we ask according to His will, he will provide for our needs?
I have been in Habakkuk’s position many a times, and its not that I don’t trust God, I just can’t help the doubting mind of my human nature sometimes. I was actually in a similar situation very recently, and I didn’t know how to get out of it. I wanted something that I was almost sure was in God’s will for my life, but it didn’t seem like I was going to get it. I decided to take matters into my own hands, but that deemed unsuccessful because nothing seemed to happen. I started to pray about it, and this morning, I told God that I wanted to hear from him and that was when the above verse was revealed to me.
Though it lingers, it will certainly come and will not delay. What is it that you are looking up to God for today? What is it that you have been praying for? Is your faith still strong? If not, meditate on these words “though it lingers, it will certainly come and will not delay.” Believe that the job you are seeking for will come in God’s time, believe that the husband/wife you are praying is on his/her way, believe that your breakthrough is coming. Keep holding on and don’t let your faith die! GOD’S FAITHFULNESS IS ALWAYS TRUE, shouldn’t your be the same?
