|When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise. ~Proverbs 10:19
I never really experienced and noticed this verse till quite recently. Have you ever seen something or found something out that was just so juicy that you had to tell someone else. Excitement builds up in you and as soon as you see the person you want to tell, you just go off and start rambling and some where in there, the truth mixes in with little lies, and as the story is passed around, it gets distorted and then eventually becomes a lie with only an element of truth to it.
The point I am trying to make here is that we have to exercise patience even when we speak. THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK! I am actually guilty of not doing this, and I can tell you for a fact that when your mouth works faster than your brain, you usually say something you wish was never said. A lot of 'oopses' can be avoided if only we use more restraint when we have the urge to say things.
The proverb above says that he who holds his tongue is wise, and when words are many, sin is present. Meditate on this verse and exercise it and I can assure you that you will experience a change.
Stay blessed and spread the word.
