I am going to do things a bit differently today. I am going to share my story.
God is so amazing, but many people don’t realize this because they never give him a chance to move in their lives. I sometimes just sit down and wonder; ‘Lord, why me?’ I think I am one of the most unworthy people that ever walked the face of this earth. One day I am excited about God and on fire for Christ, the next, I am forcing myself to get down on my knees to give him praise. I spend so much of my time being around people and doing things that do not necessarily bring glorification to his name. I do not always pray like I ought to, I do not always worship like I ought to, I do not always minister like I am supposed to, and I do not always do things that are pleasing to God.
In spite of all those things I mentioned in the previous paragraph, God still found worth in me and chose me by grace. He still heard me when I called, and he caught me when I fell. Sometimes, I still wonder, ‘why me?’ But God’s response is that he did not choose me because of who or what I was, but because of who He is. He is indeed not a respecter of persons. If He was, he would not have chosen to use Moses the stutterer, David the adulterer, Paul the murderer, Jacob the liar, Mary the prostitute, etc. God in His sovereignty has bigger plans for each and every one of our lives, but only when we surrender to His will can we discover His plans and purpose.
You may be like prodigal son today; you have tasted the goodness of God, but you have allowed the ‘luster’ of the world to lure you away from Him; I am inviting you to come back home today. The Lord is waiting for you with arms wide open. You may be like Jonah today; you have received a calling from God, but because of fear of failure or better yet, fear of success, you are running away from your calling. Do not force God to make a shark swallow you before you heed His call. You may be like Job today; you have always done everything right, but nothing seems to be going well for you. You have lost loved ones, you are sick in your body and in your spirit; your faith is being tested, etc. God is waiting to turn things around and restore you to greater glory, PLEASE DO NOT EVER QUIT. Remain faithful, this too shall pass.
I don’t know who God is speaking to today, but he is calling you back home today. Brethren, no matter how screwed up you think you are, God can still renew. No matter how far you think you have strayed away, God can still deliver. No matter how scared you are, God is still there. I challenge you to turn back to Him today. I urge you to heed His call. God is waiting to open the floodgates of blessing. He is waiting to heal and deliver you. God is waiting to use you in a mighty way. God is waiting for you to turn to Him. However, He is not going to move in your life until you invite Him in. What is it going to be?
