|“I now realize how true it is that God does not show favouritism but accepts men from every nation who fear him and do what is right.” ~Acts 10:34-35
Many people and even preachers say that God loves us all equally, but I am here today to tell you that this is a fallacy. The Bible says that the greatest commandment of all is to love the Lord God with all of your heart and strength (paraphrased). God loves those who love him. In a sermon that I heard at Church, the preacher described God as a God of reciprocity (Gen. 13, Gen 40, 1 Sam. 20, 2 Sam 9). If you take a look at these examples, you will see that God greatly blessed those who loved and obeyed him, and those who didn’t were destroyed.
2 Corinthians 9:6 tells us that we reap what we sow. The measure you love is the measure you will be loved in return. It is just as simple as that. “I love those who love me, and those who seek me find Me.” -Proverbs 8:17. You can’t expect God to love you and keep blessing you if you are not doing anything for him. When we go to God with our various requests, like Janet Jackson’s song says, he asks us “what have you done for me lately?”
We have a very partial God, and let us all keep this in mind in all of our actions. Professors have a tendency to be more willing to help out a diligent student that does his/her homework and participates in class than a slacker. God is the same way with us.
We need to show God that we love him through our actions towards him as well as others; we should be willing to do for him without any expectations, obey his commandments, and win souls for him. When God told Abraham to sacrifice his only son, he was willing to do this without once questioning God. He didn’t know what God had in store for him, but he still did it without expectations!! This is how we can show our love for God. Take a look at all those that God blessed in the Bible; he only did so because they loved him first.
So brethren never think that because you are a Christian, God loves you as much as he loves another Christian that loves him more than you do. You reap what you sow. Do for him, and he will do for you. Love him, and he will love you back. Give and he will give unto you. Bless others, and he will bless you. If you are ignorant to God, you better be sure that he will return the favour. We serve a God of reciprocity; so think about that before you do something that you wouldn’t want to be done to you.
WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND!!!
Stay blessed and spread the word.
