|Instead, as he who called you is holy, be holy yourselves in all your conduct; as it written, “You shall be holy for I am holy.”~1 Peter 1:15|
How can we be holy as God is? Christ had to come down himself to die for us because we were just that unholy. So, is it even possible to be holy? God is urging us in the verse above to be holy; this must mean that it is possible. He will never tell you to do something that was impossible, and most importantly, he will never have you do something without giving you any help. Because of this, Jesus left us with the Holy Spirit after his departure from earth.
Becomoing holy is not an easy task, but as in every other difficult task, we ought to take it one step at a time. If there is a habit that you know does not reflect God’s holiness, deal with it. Talk to God and ask for forgiveness, and let him help you rid it from your life. If there is a trait that you see in the stories of the people that God loved in the Bible, make it yours (it is very important for us to learn from the lives and experiences of others).
Spend time with God, and grow in his word. This is how we can walk in line with His will for our lives. The less unholy we are and the more time we spend with God, the more we become like him. It is just that simple. Being holy doesn’t mean becoming God, but it does mean becoming more like God and growing in him and making your place in heaven guaranteed.
Be holy in all your conduct. You should be holy for God is holy!!!
Stay blessed and spread the word.
