School just started back up a couple of days ago, and I must say that things have been a little hectic, but that’s the joy of school. I was talking to my roommates today about how I have not been feeling very spiritual lately. I pray and I read my Bible, but it still feels like something is missing or maybe I’m just doing something wrong. They said they felt the same way, and this really puzzled me for a while. What was it that we were doing wrong or not doing?
I thought about this for hours trying to figure it out, but it would not come to me, so I decided to open my Bible and see what I would stumble across. When I opened it up, it was Proverbs 3, and I quickly skimmed through it and one verse really stuck, and that was verse 5, which says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” I was trying to figure out on my own what I was doing wrong, and that was the thing I was doing wrong. God wants us to come to him even when we don’t feel like praying. The devil is going to try to make us think that there is something wrong. He is going to try to make us think that we don’t have to talk to God if we don’t feel like praying. You have got the heads up now brethren, don’t let the devil fool you.
God sees our hearts and when our spirit feels weak, he still wants us to talk to him as if he were right in front of us. He knows that we are human, and he understands the things we go through, so instead of feeling bad and trying to figure out what is going on, just keep trusting in God and bringing everything before him. Let him know how you are feeling, and ask for his help. His strength is made perfect in our weakness, so instead of wasting time trying to figure out what we are not doing, let us focus on hearing God’s instruction’s and rely on that. In any situation, always remember that God is waiting for you to come to him; all you need to say is HELP ME LORD!!!
