I was at a Christian Café over the weekend, and as I watched all the acts go up, one after the other, I was completely humbled. I was reminded of the dream that God placed in my heart years ago, a dream that I had allowed to slowly die. God resurrected that dream in me through the inspiration of the other Christians that were present at the event. I was excited! I was nervous! But most importantly, I was ready to begin to live out the dream.
Just like me, many of you have allowed your dreams to slowly fizzle away. We have become so concerned with all the worries of this world that we have no energy left in us to act on our God-given desires. We may have even pushed these dreams so far away that we can barely even remember what they are.
My challenge to you today brethren is to surround yourselves with people that can stir up things within you. If you want to succeed in school, you need to get away from slackers and surround yourself with people that stay up late studying. If you want to become a better Christian, stay away from people live carnal lives, and surround yourself with people that are actively involved in 'the Christian walk.' Do you get my drift?
I want to encourage you to take your dreams more seriously. If there is something that God has put on your heart to do, then do not let anything stand in your way. Surround yourself with people that will stir things up within you. Put a demand on God to help you bring your dreams into fruition. And most importantly, challenge yourselves to turn your dreams into realities. There is nothing more pitiful than a dead dream. Please brethren, do not allow your dreams to die!
